Zoe Warren from BookWise Solutions recently visited the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital to deliver a cheque for £500 to Lee Osborne, IM&T Transformation Lead, for his chosen charity: Veterans Orthopaedic Centre Appeal.
Lee had correctly answered the three questions that we had set on our Winter 2018 Newsletter Competition, and was then randomly selected to win £500 for a charity of his choice.
The charity that Lee had chosen is an appeal to help fund a new £1.5 million Veterans’ Orthopaedic Centre at the specialist orthopaedic hospital, The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry, to treat veteran patients in a bespoke care environment.
The current service, the first of its kind in the UK, delivers two outpatient clinics per month and is open to those who have served with the UK military, including National Service. It mostly treats arthritic lower limb problems, especially those requiring hip and knee replacements. The service is led by Lieutenant Colonel Carl Meyer, a consultant military orthopaedic surgeon at RJAH.
BookWise are very proud to support such a deserving charity. For anyone wanting to donate to the Appeal, please visit https://www.rjah.nhs.uk/Fundraising/Veterans-Orthopaedic-Centre-Appeal.aspx where more information can be found.
